Disciples of Christ President and General Minister Sharon Watkins has been selected to deliver the sermon at President-Elect Barack Obama's National Prayer Service on Wednesday, January 21. Rev. The announcement that appeared in the New York Times described the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) as "a small, liberal-leaning Protestant denomination with 3,754 congregations and about 690,000 members in the United States and Canada."
